What Is Responsive Design?

 History of the responsiveness concept:

Basically web pages are made to be displayed on computer screens. This has forced companies to eate several versions to display on different devices. Actually that was a very tough task. It was imperative to come up with protocols that allow websites to display properly on all devices.


Definition of responsive web design:

A responsive design is a design that displays properly on whatever device you pick to browse the web. The ability to match the resolution, fit the screen measurements and the outputs of the considered device has dramatically evolved; web designer need only few code lines to adapt the content  of the website to the displaying screen. Prior to make the responsive web design, you need to know the behavior of the devices you need to display on.

How to make a responsive web site:

To make a web design responsive, the web site code must include what is called device detection plug in. It is a code line that is loaded on the device and can collect the information about the displaying properties. It has then the ability of creating a digital report that is returned to the web server. Usually the web server interprets the code lines of the web site and matches them to the displaying properties of the device. This process is important since PCs are more adequate in matter of installing applications and platforms. These device detectors also called user agent are commonly written in modern JavaScript and Ajax that generate few bugs and issues.

I t is also important to make the web design easy to display and not to stuff it with hard load material. Optimizing the code to display properly is one important procedure to make in order to make the mobile browsing experience enjoyable and efficient. The process is made with extreme respect to the mobile device properties; they are not as equipped as PCs, but they can dispose of particular plugs in and applications to support different web designs.
